Our Church

The United Church of Christ is our denomination. We are a “God is Still Speaking” church. No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. Our church has an active Food Pantry and we are a host church of Seacoast Family Promise. We are also a member of the seacoast region’s Interfaith Sustainability Team and New Hampshire Interfaith Power and Light. Mutema Church is our sister church in Zimbabwe. We are an accessible church. Our church reaches out to the community and our doors are open to all.

Ministry Groups of Our Church

1. Community Ministry
Granville Barrows, Chair; Annie Beauchemin; Kathy Massett; Louise Thaden; Karen Mason

We are committed to our role as an active and vital Christian presence supporting the community. Our church members work closely with the pastor to make sure that we support not only our members but others in the community with prayers, emotional support, and other help when needed.

2.  Education and Evangelism
Stephanie Reynolds, Chair; Lydia Leahy; Linda Currier; Joanne Shultz

Our Sunday School program uses contemporary materials. Our youth often engage in activities with other UCC churches. Adult education includes a regular Bible Study before the worship service on Sunday mornings, and occasional Wednesday evening discussions led by the pastor or guest speakers. We seek new friends! Join us for theological discussion and personal sharing.

3. Missions
Richard Lates, Chair; B.J. Lates; Donna Lee Lewis; Chris Peters

We recognize that as Christians we are sent forth into the world to engaging in acts of service, justice, love, and peace. Our church has an active Food Pantry and we are a founding host church of Seacoast Family Promise. We provide a monthly Communion service to residents of Clipper Harbor in Portsmouth. Mutema Church is our sister church in Zimbabwe. We support Our Church’s Wider Mission through the UCC; and we are active in many local outreach and social justice initiatives.

4. Public Worship
Elaine Barker, Chair; Barbie Hazzard; Bonnie Gardner; Deb Hess; Elizabeth Molleur

This Ministry Group plans our worship experiences, and involves the congregation in services. Our pastor, Rev. Robert Fellows, provides messages that are grounded in Biblical Scripture and applied to contemporary concerns. Paul Merrill, our Music Director, is a gifted organist and is working with singers at all levels to cultivate their abilities to praise God with music.
